[[2026 Games]]

## 2026-05-03
I wrote about this game before, specifically about how it [[Youth O Youth|reminded me of my youth]] — or rather, what my youth could have been. But every time Sping/Summer comes around, I come back to it. It’s like my personal version of **Boku no Natsuyasumi**.
It’s pretty impressive how much this game gets me to be nostalgic for something I never actually experienced thanks to the attention to detail put into every aspect of world design. From the second game onwards, you can travel to other towns in **Yo-Kai Watch**. This isn’t a cutscene — it involves you purchasing a train ticket, figuring out which railway line you need to get on, and remembering which stop you need to get off at. There is absolutely no reason for [[Level 5]] to have us do all of that, other than to perfectly replicate the experience of traveling on a hot summer day. Either that, or to force me to get depressed about the lack of public transport infrastructure in the states, lol.
I also forgot how massive this game is. Even after already having put in 100 hours, there’s still so much for me to do: finishing **Blaster T** levels, collecting all the Yo-kai, beating superbosses and what not. There’s always something to do whenever I pick it back up, and the relatively simple mechanics mean that I can ramp up quickly picking it up every summer.
