I'm going on a trip for work, so I figured it'd be a good opportunity to talk about what's in my bag. :)
There are going to be a lot of pictures. Please excuse the photo quality, I am literally just A Guy.
Here's an overall shot:

- Work stuff that would identify me lmfao
- My eReader because I still can't find it but it's an [[Onyx Boox Page]], highly recommended
- Masks and hand sanitizer
- Charging brick
Okay, on to the deep dive!
## The Bag
![[What's in My Bag-20241116153147323.png]]
I travel everywhere with a Timbuk2. I **LOVE** this damn thing. It is so comfortable to wear, while also being so spacious, while also also being incredibly durable. I foresee owning this thing for a decade before it begins to have any wear and tear. I kind of wish that I got something flashier, but the standard black messenger bag is still so clean that I've gotten compliments on it from random people.
Bonus: so many damn pockets. I like a bag that I can put lots of stuff in different places to keep it nice all nice and compact without bumping into each other, which the Timbuk2 is handily capable of. I love this bag so much that at least a quarter of my excitement when I go on a trip just comes from the fact that I'll be able to wear it around, LOL.
## Side-By-Side Power Packer
![[What's in My Bag-20241116153733312.png]]
The [Power Packer](https://sidebysidegear.com/products/the-power-packer) is where all my cables go. I like to err on the side of prepared, so I bring *lots* of chargers and different cables. The Power Packer does a great job at this. I used the company's picture to give you an idea as my own is bad, but I can tell you it's accurate. I even have my emergency power brick in it and it still has room for more cables and power bricks. Great pick if you're a nerd carrying a lot of tech around (and if you're reading this, I'd bet you are).
## Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+
![[What's in My Bag-20241116162008444.png]]
Got this [tablet](https://www.samsung.com/us/app/tablets/tab-s8/) on sale a few months ago, it's pretty great, especially because I don't want to take a personal laptop and work laptop with me at the same time. It came with the keyboard and pen too. It's pretty light, has a gorgeous AMOLED screen, and can take anything I throw at it - not that I throw much, hah. Mostly use it for streaming movies in my hotel room and writing when I'm bored on a plane.
## Miyoo Mini+ and Anbernic SP

![[What's in My Bag-20241116162224889.png]]
Okay, hear me out: I know I'm a weirdo, but I'm not so weird as to take *two* pocket handhelds on a trip for no reason. The reason I *am* taking two pocket handhelds with me on a trip is because I want to see which one performs better in a traveling setting. I'm already quite surprised by how good the [Miyoo Mini+](https://www.miyoogame.com/product/miyoo-mini-plus-retro-handheld-game-console/) is as far as QOL and pocket-ability, but will it hold up against the [Anbernic SP](https://anbernic.com/products/rg35xxsp)'s clamshell goodness? I'll find out and report my findings in another post!
## Ayn Odin 2
![[What's in My Bag-20241116162707007.png]]
Two months ago the above would have been the picture of a Steam Deck or Switch. But I absolutely [[Thoughts on the Ayn Odin 2|adore my Odin 2]], and the fact of the matter is that it's more fit for travel than both of the consoles I just mentioned. The case I got for it is actually a Tomtoc meant for the Switch, but it works for the Odin 2 just fine.
The Odin 2 is a powerhouse that can play pretty much any PS2 or GameCube game I want. It can even play DS games pretty effectively, able to show both screens at once. It also has a *phenomenal* battery. It's probably the nicest thing I've bought this year, and I'm excited to put it through its paces during my trip.

So yea there's my bag, hope this was interesting.
