[[2026 Books and Manga]]  Felt the urge to hit up **Ocarina of Time** again, but rather than doing another full playthrough, I grabbed the manga adaptation and read through it for the first time. It was very cute and fun, but ultimately forgettable. As an adaptation it’s somewhat weak. If you’ve played the games before it’s a nice cliff-notes version to remind yourself of what happened, and some of the additions are cute. I liked the bonus stories a lot, especially the one about the Watarara, which would go on to become the basis of the Rito tribe in **Wind Waker** onwards. But it cuts out a *lot*, making the whole thing feel very rushed. There are a ton of moments that I wish were expanded on that aren’t, so it’s hard to feel anchored to anything. The Young Link section is super filled out, but in comparison the Adult Link section has less characterization than the actual game because it’s so short! Overall it’s a nice, quick read, but nothing to write home about. I’ve heard the other adaptions are a lot stronger, so I’m glad I started with this one and look forward to checking out the others.
