## 2025-09-01 Gotten really into **The Division 2** because it has all of the staples of a [[Time to Time-Sink|time sink]], but unlike something like **Diablo IV**, you still have to use your brain a bit more actively, to like, aim and find cover and stuff. As a result the game is the perfect balance of mindless number-go-up gameplay while still using some of my brain power to not fall asleep at the wheel. This is exactly what I need when I’m alone in my apartment and need to stave off the horrors. It helps that unlike other games in this genre, this one has a very sleek UI that doesn’t feel overwhelming. I also really appreciate how it goes out of its way to onboard you, showing you example builds and laying out progression in a way that makes sense and is easy to follow. **Destiny 2** was happy to just dump me into the game and let me swim for my life which was painful comparatively. None of the above would matter if it didn’t feel good to play, but lootin’ tootin’ scootin’ ‘n shootin’ feels fantastic in **D2**. I could — and have — done it for hours, and it never stops being a blast. Right now I’m running a Skill build so I can maximize the use of my drone and turret, but I’m building a support build on the side in case my friends ever give in to my hyping up and play toys with me.
