[[2026 Movies]]  ## 2026-06-19 I wasn’t impressed, NGL. Like it was *fiiiine*. But I literally dozed off a few times. I suppose it’s purely a personal thing, but I don’t find “The Backrooms” as a concept very scary. Liminal spaces and fluorescent lights just make me remember how sleepy I’d get in school. So if that doesn’t unnerve me, what’s left? Just a lot of running around and away from spooky creatures, I guess. The big terror was particularly goofy-looking to me, to the point where I wondered if I was supposed to laugh whenever it turned a corner. It doesn’t help that I watched this on Juneteenth, whilst a Black dude makes an ass of himself on screen for two hours. They couldn’t get *any* of the usual white boy suspects for this one? I dunno man. It’s just a tad suspect to me, you know? Movie just wasn’t for me, but more power to you if you enjoyed it.
