## 2025-08-16 Doing my NG+ for this game and it’s still absolute peak. I always liked **Romancing SaGa 2**, but this remake puts it in top 10 JRPG territory for me. It is one of the [[Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain|goopiest]] [[JRPG|JRPGs]] I’ve ever played. The loop of dungeon crawling, sparking abilities for that dopamine spike, and reshuffling your party whenever you get new classes is fantastic. There’s some new questline and reward around every corner, and so many different ways to do things in follow-up playthroughs. One example: I was a bit slow on getting the Strategist this time around, but I wanted to take out Bokhohn sooner than usual. Since I didn’t have the Strategist to. Well. Help me strat my way in, I bumbled my way through and ended up getting captured, completely changing my approach in that dungeon since I was pretty unprepared. I also ended up taking on Rocbouquet with an all-female party and Empress, completely changing that questline as well. The fact that all of this was more or less in the original SNES version is unreal by the way. Akitoshi Kawazu is a treasure and I hope he lives forever. Also I need Studio Xeen to work on a remake of **Romancing SaGa 3** — if they give that game half the QOL they gave this one, it will almost definitely be my favorite JRPG of all time.
