I had decided to try and write my thoughts out on my favorite games of the year but depression struck and it's been hard to get out of the brain fog. I'd settled on Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core 6 and Remnant 2. I think if you know me this list isn't terribly surprising. --- While I feel that everything that has been said about those first two has been said, I don't think Remnant 2 got nearly as many accolades as it deserved. I honestly can't even remember if it was nominated for anything at the Game Awards and if it was I don't know if it won. Really I think the best way I can describe this game is (sajam voice) I'm vibing. Satisfying gameplay, gorgeous zones, incredible boss fights. Build crafting out the ass, community puzzle hunting, an OST that whips SO HARD. I think, unfortunately, the "dark souls but guns" moniker has probably hindered its growth. The first game also suffered from this. It puts the series into a box it's too big for. If you haven't played it (or From Ashes) I hope you give it try sometime. Anyways here's the final boss theme that absolutely fucks ![](https://youtu.be/_ad1XuIANAA?si=yvzKSl7PaBGYs8nO)
