## What's the thing?
This is a queer middle grade graphic novel (comic) that we wrote and drew (published by HarperCollins)! It's a sci fi slice of life coming of age story. It'll be out on May 14th, 2024.
Synopsis:
Indu, a boy from the moon, feels like he doesn’t belong. Since he and his adoptive mom disembarked from their spaceship—their home—to live on Earth, he’s struggled with being in a blended family, dealing with culture shock and just not fitting in.
In a moment of loneliness, Indu calls out to the moon, begging them to take him back. And against all odds, the moon hears him and agrees to bring him home on the first day of the New Year. But as Indu finds friendship in unlikely places, he discovers that home is more than where you come from.
And when the moon calls again, Indu must decide: Is he willing to give up what he’s just found?

This book is my baby, I've put so much love and hope into it!! I've always wanted to make something for queer kids of color to connect with. This is a comic with queer identities, cultures and communities specific to Indonesia that are so underrepresented. My hope is that it helps kids and grown ups understand how much larger queerness is than what we're used to seeing in media. If the premise of transmasc Princess Kaguya in a soft cultural sci fi setting appeals to you, please support my book!
