[[2026 Games]] [[Games I'm Looking Forward to in 2025|Last year]] when I wrote this list, I wanted to go 2 for 2 after a pretty successful [[Games I'm Looking Forward to in 2024|2024]]. I wasn’t even close, LMFAO. - [[Suikoden Remaster Collection|Suikoden]] was mediocre, and **Suikoden II** was only slightly better - **Fatal Fury** could have been good but Saudi Arabia ruined it - [[Pokemon Legends - Z-A|Pokemon Legends: Z-A]] wasn’t as good as **Arceus** - **Bleach: Rebirth of Souls** was trash, but the music was great at least - I forgot to even put **Monster Hunter Wilds** on it but turns out I didn’t need to Most of the stuff that ended up on my [[My Games of the Year 2025|Games of the Year 2025]] list ended up catching me by surprise. We’ll see if the same thing happens this year. --- ## Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve This can’t not be amazing, right? Right? **Ace Combat 7** had issues and even then I loved it. I think **Wings of Theve** could bring the series to mainstream status. The production value is up, and the usual military drama looks to be more character-driven, which should help get people invested. I need that to happen because I want **Ace Combat** to keep going until I'm dead, and then longer still. ## Code Vein 2 The first one was so stupid. I hope the second one is also stupid, but maybe more polished. I also hope we get another opening from VAMPS. ****COME ON AND LET ME TAKE YOU TO THE UNDERWOOORL—*** ## Control Resonant I have to put this here because I also promised Jared I’d finish the first **Control** this year. I like how different **Resonant** looks though. Excited to see what Remedy is cooking. ## Crimson Desert One of those “looks too good to be true”-type games. Also the protagonist so fucking boring looking. But I love drop kicks and it gives me [[Dragon's Dogma 2 (2024)|Dragon's Dogma]] vibes, so I’ll give it a shot. ## Mario Tennis Fever They’re never gonna let **Camelot** out of the Mario sports mines, but I love their Tennis games, and it looks like we’re getting some kind of story mode again. Really hoping this is better than **Mario Tennis Aces**. ## Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls I know people are kind of down on this game. But Ms. Marvel is in it and she’s so cute and I love her and would die for her and will main her. It also looks kinda simple and chill in a [[Granblue Fantasy Versus - Rising]] sort of way, which I appreciate. ## Nioh 3 If you know me, there isn’t even anything to say. My GOTY is already locked in. I'm gonna be so fucking abnormal about this game. Please keep a safe distance away from me when it releases so I don’t weird you out. ## Onimusha: Way of the Sword I’m one of those weirdos that actually liked **Onimusha 4**. That said, **Way of the Sword** looks to be a return to form. The depth of its combat is a welcome change of pace to the previous games. Mostly I’m just happy to see [[Capcom]] work on old IPs again. ## Pokemon Pokopia I’m not much of a mainline Pokemon fan at this point, but I love **Dragon Quest Builders**, and the team that made that is working on this game, so I’m gonna give it a shot. Also I saw Leafeon in it. Leafeon the GOAT. ## Pragmata I actually can’t believe this game doesn’t come out until April. Why did it take so long? Actually we know why, apparently the game wasn’t very fun in its initial state. I can respect a team that takes its time to get that fixed before pushing it out. I like the combat system's puzzle-y gimmick and the hammy vibes. It feels like a PS3 game came out of a portal in time. ## Romeo is a Dead Man I will check out anything Suda51 is involved in.[^1] I’m so happy Grasshopper gets to self-publish it too, and that the whole team gets to work on something new after being caught up in corporate game politics. Just please, for the love of God, give us an official soundtrack release this time. ## Vampire Crawlers I am half of a [[Vampire Survivors]] fan, mostly not getting into it when that insane SaGa crossover DLC dropped. But I am 200% a dungeon crawler fan. **Vampire Crawlers** looks like a great blend of the former’s over-the-top trappings mixed with the genre’s exploration and movement.
