[[2025 Game Backlog]]
[[2026 Game Backlog]]
I have mixed feelings about backlogs. I don't think it's helpful or healthy to keep track of every game you want to play in your entire life. BUT, as you may know, [[Mint|your boy]] has ADHD, and sometimes [[Game Backlog Project-1743262336740.jpg|a bunch of amazing games]] come out at once, AND you have access to every retro game ever made, AND romhacks of those retro games, and you just want a short term list of things you want to play in some sort of order. I was pretty good about focusing on and beating one game at a time in 2024 and I don't want to drop the ball on that this year. Choice paralysis makes steam come out of my ears.
Thus the **Game Backlog Project**. I am trying to adhere to the following:
# Rules
1. One game I paid for and one retro game.
2. Shorter games first
3. Games I've played before in the back
## Categories
- **Playing**
- Self-explanatory
- **Up Next**
- On the short-list after the current stuff
- **Finished**
- Self-explanatory
> [!info] There is no **Backlog** category
> This is to free myself of that burden. I don't want games to feel like work. So only stuff that's on my mind will ever be in this backlog.
A backlog doesn't necessarily mean I'll *finish* all of these games. Just that I am planning to play them. If I don't finish a game or quit it, I still will label it as "Finished," because that's what's best for my broken brain. I plan to update it like...once a week? And will be completely refreshed for the next year.
That's all!
