## 2025-03-29 Picked this up because someone said it was good and holy shit they weren't kidding. Unlike other **Front Mission** titles, **Gun Hazard**[^1] is a side-scrolling [[Action-RPGs|Action-RPG]] where you clear individual stages. Each stage gets you EXP and money to upgrade your mech with new parts. That's pretty much the entire loop. Given this is an [[Super Nintendo|SNES]] game it's not like, filled to the brim with depth or anything, but it's just rock-solid in all fronts. It feels good to play, it looks gorgeous, and the plot has that **Front Mission** political good-good. Perfect to pick up, clear a stage, and put back down. Collecting parts to build out my mech is very addictive too, so I've replayed a couple of stages to grind out cash. It's basically 2D **Armored Core**. If that sounds like something that would interest you, definitely pick it up. ![[Front Mission - Gun Hazard-1743265973191.png]] ## 2025-03-30 Finished the game, it was heat. Didn't do anything super unique but did everything it did do very well. Super polished and engaging game from beginning to end. [^1]: What a sick-ass name for a game btw
