## 2025-02-07 Man this movie still goes hard a few years later. I called **Bad Guys** "this generation's **Cats Don't Dance**" and I still abide by that. Diane Foxington activated a new generation of furries like a sleeper cell codeword. But yeah it has jokes, it's brisk in its pacing, and mercifully short.[^1] Also it's absolutely *gorgeous*. I'm so glad **Spider-Verse** woke the animation industry up, and in particular Dreamworks. Between this movie, **Puss in Boots: The Last Wish** and **The Mitchells vs the Machines**, they've kind of been on a tear lately - more than Disney, I'll say that much. My favorite part tbh is how the movie does not acknolwedge or seem interested at all in the fact that the world has anthropomorphic animals, regular animals, and humans that all co-exist. It is never addressed or explained and I think that's secretly the best gag in the movie. I'm excited for the sequel. I could listen to Sam Rockwell read a phone book. [^1]: Not that I wouldn't want more, I just love that animated movies skew towards an hour and thirty minutes
