Oh hey, two planning related blog posts in a row, that's funny.
I suppose it's been on my mind, though. Between planning for my upcoming trip to New York, planning out my career shift, planning out this blog, planning out what games I want to play next and what projects I want to do, there's lots of planning to be done.
My issue tends to be in the execution, in a few senses. The first is that sometimes I plan too much for things that don't really matter. Like, is anyone going to notice if I don't put out a newsletter every other week? Doubtful. Hell, sometimes *I* don't even notice. But it also shows up in the sense that sometimes I spend too much time in preparation. Recently I swapped tools for project planning *again*, this time from **Asana** to **[GoodDay](https://www.goodday.work/)**. This was overall a good move for me - it's better for an individual person that has multiple projects that I'm juggling, costs me nothing to use, and is much more intuitive. And I've talked about how [[Swapping Tools is Fine]]. BUT! I always have to be conscious of whether I'm planning something to help myself out, or because I'm avoiding the actual doing.
Luckily I'm leaning towards the latter more than the former lately. Ironically a good indication of this is that I'm not writing as much as I normally do - means I'm doing other things that need doing. I think sometimes I tie myself to my identity as a "person who writes" a little too strongly to the core of my being. Not working - and subsequently finding myself with a lot of free time - has made me realize that it's an unhealthy view to stick to too strongly.
In case you're wondering, these are the types of thoughts rotating in my brain regularly. Yes, I hate it in here LMAO.
