If there’s anything I could go back and tell the younger me…well the first thing would be to just pick any degree you want because you’re gonna get laid off anyways. But the second thing would definitely be to watch out for the ergonomics of things you work with. It woulda been great for the me of today.
It’s actually wild to me how so many things we use frequently are so bad for our bodies. My keyboard was destroying my back until I got my moonlander. My mouse was destroying my wrist until I got an ergo Elecom. My chair was destroying my back until I got something with actual lumbar support.
And it irritates me that I had to pay for all that shit. You have to pay extra for your body to not break down quicker. The Switch and Switch 2 are awful about this too — the joycons of both are so bad that I had to get replacements. My order of the NYXI Hyperion 3 came in yesterday so I could actually use the Switch 2 in portable mode. Maybe now I’ll get more use out of it beyond it being a [[Warframe]] machine.
I want to hope that one day ergonomics will be the default, but I doubt it. Beyond it being worth it for companies to make it a premium addition, it feels like most people just want things to get smaller and smaller, rather than easier to handle.
Anyways, shout out to the Knicks, I love it when an underdog gets its due.
