[[Games]] ## Notes ## 05072024 ### 40 Minutes This game has nothing but great reviews on Steam, so I bit the bullet and grabbed it. And in turn, *Sand Land* grabbed *me*. I'm immediately intrigued bby the premise, given I'm not an original reader of the manga. I love the designs of course, both characters and vehicles. I haven't delved into the game too deeply but it starts off pretty dang quickly, and I look forward to the full loop. The game's beautiful, particularly in its animations - Beelzebub emotes so dynamically that it makes every cutscene delightful. Melee combat is relatively simple so far, and I'm honestly fine if it stays that way, as long as the rest of the game's systems lock into place in an interesting way as time goes on. I'm reminded of the PS2 games of my youth when I play it. In fact, a review on Steam literally went: >[!Quote] > If you're in your late 20s / early 30s and want to feel like you're playing PS2 games again, grab this. And that pretty much fits me to a tee! Will report with more deteail soon - the only real con I can think of is that the camera following where you turn the car is a little irritating when I wanna look around at the same time as I drive in a straight line. I'll see if theres a way to fix that.
