Gorgeous environments, super colorful. The face models are hard to get used to atm. V clean UI, but readability during combat is a little busy as I try to acclimate to everything - particle effects **everywhere**. Incredible soundtrack, which is to be expected given the IP it's pulling from. Hope there's an official release, either already out or coming out soon. Combat feels a lot better than I expected. Each character I've tried is pretty unique. Currently focused on playing Katalina and she has a nice mix of healing and buffing. When she ends her combos with the Y button she fills up a meter that can then be spent to have her stand appear and do big damage, and that's just one of the 8 initial roster members. The Party AI puts human beings to shame. They prioritize enemies, heal, buff and do their rotations without a single need to direct or order them. I wonder how well they work in the game's hardest content, lol. The mission structure is nice and breezy. There's a main story to progress through, but you can stop at any time to do mini-missions with online players Monster Hunter style. I only played on my PC but I hope it runs well on the Steam Deck because it'd be *perfect* for that sort of gameplay loop. Don't care about the story itself just yet, but they put a lot of effort into explaining the world to Granblue newbies. The anywhere glossary system should be in every JRPG and I'm glad it's getting traction. Also funny how much more engaging the cute interactions are between Lyria and the protag when the protag is Djeeta, as has always been the case. Def can see myself enjoying this and I'm looking forward to checking out how the endgame ramps things up. ### 02072024 #### Playtime: 14.4 Hours I finished MSQ and had a wonderful time! I dunno how to explain this in a way that makes sense, but the campaign for *Relink* feels like an Uncharted game. By that I mean you just kinda move from setpiece to setpiece, rarely taking a break. You can clear it in a weekend. It's like a JRPG best-hits album - grassy fields to start you off, the power of friendship, killing gods, saving a knuckle-headed best friend all in a breezy 12ish hours. Speaking of albums: **good fucking lord** the music in this game is heat. This is a given for Granblue Fantasy, but even still I was losing my mind at how good the final boss theme was. The only negative is that your party *never* **shuts the fuck up** so it's hard to even hear it sometimes! Hopefully peeps will quiet down now that I'm done with the main plot. There seems to be an epilogue of sorts, which doesn't shock me - I assume this serves as the introduction and justification for end-game. I'm very excited to see what it's like, but I'm going to wait until a few friends get to the end as well so I can experience it with them. Looking forward to it! ##### Character Thoughts Right now my faves are Katalina and Vane. They both fit neatly into Support Roles. Building up meter to do big damage or health your party as Katalina is super satisfying. I'm still early days with Vane, but I love his big barrier that nullifies any damage as long as you're under it. It's a very visible form of support that makes me feel good as the weirdo that has to make sure everyone around me is having a good time, always. He dishes big damage too, and has a heal - my kinda bro. I'd like to unlock Siegfried next, but then I'm going to stop "pulling" characters for end-game reasons that aren't worth explaining right now. On that note, the real ~~Dark Souls~~ Relink begins here. I've had a blast so far and given that was just the appetizer to the main course, I can't wait to see what's next. ## Resources [GBFRelink Fix](https://github.com/Lyall/GBFRelinkFix) [End-Game Build Theorycrafting Tips](https://reddit.com/r/GranblueFantasyRelink/comments/1ajobut/end_game_character_builds_all_characters/)
