[[The Forgotten Tombs]] In NakeyJakey’s [The Last of Us 2 video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCYMH-lp4oM) he describes a condition he has called *Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain*. Having GGGB essentially means that your motivation and interest in games is powered almost purely by ***gameplay***. Anything that gets in the way of gameplay, like: - Stealth/Trailing sequences - Overly long, unskippable cutscenes - Long Tutorials Is a threat to Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain. I have Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain. A very bad case, if I’m being honest. It’s the reason why I can’t stand games like The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption 2, and other “prestige-type” games. If you’ve spent time in this café, you probably already have an idea about that, and what kind of games I do like. And I’ve definitely mentioned GGGB before. As such, I thought it’d be fun to make the **Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain Badge.** ![The Goopy Goblin Gamer Badge in all its Goopy Glory](__GHOST_URL__/content/images/2021/05/GGGB.png.png) The GGGB Badge is the highest honor you can receive from Mint’s Café. A game with the GGGB Badge is one that I recommend for its incredibly engaging, moment-to-moment gameplay and mechanics. It means that even if its story isn’t incredible, or it isn’t a technical marvel, it’s still worth playing based solely on the fact that it feels fantastic to play it. Some examples of unofficial GGGB Badge alum: - Nioh 2 - Breath of the Wild - Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana - CrossCode - Trials of Mana - Hades - Apex Legends Look forward to GGGB Badges in upcoming reviews! There might even be one coming soon... --- That’s all for now! Do you have Goopy Goblin Gamer Brain? Let me know [@mintmakesthings](twitter.com/mintmakesthings)!
