## LAST TIME ON FABULA Z! Megaira chased you on a giant Black Dragon, pissed off that she's been conned. A chase ensues, interrupted by the approach of Throne's airship. You were convinced by Hilde to land on the airship. A battle ensued after a tense truce was formed by you and Throne. Hilde believes that there's still good at heart in him, and that he can be convinced to turn against your true enemy, Malum and its Emperor, Argo. Eventually the Airship is caught into a magistorm, and you're all sucked down into a vortex near the edge of the Clouds. --- ## Session Goal The group crashes and needs to escape the ruins they've found themselves in. They're going to learn some backstory. ## Adventure Summary After the crash, Megaira and Throne are nowhere to be found. Excalibur come across a rusted down building, but unlike any they've seen. This one is made out of metal walls. Inside, they find a series of rectangles with black screens, but can't make heads or tails of them. But they do find a book of notes from a man named Dr. Ubom! They learn that the islands might not have always been islands, and some unknown land called "Mars" that existed long ago. Ubom's Note: Day 4: > "The experiment is proceeding as planned, but I am...unsure of the results we've received. I am a man of science. I have always hated the bureaucracy. Now we are moving too quickly. Forgoing the safeguards that lead to careful but true progress. I shudder to think of the consequences." Day 28: > "I grow increasingly worried of the direction the Experiment is taking. As such, I've begun to build out a safeguard myself, in secret. He has been a pet project of mine for a while now, but I've begun to progress him in earnest." Day 134: > "It is as I feared, and everything I hoped not to happen. Mars buckles under the weight of our sins. My sins. My only hope is that he can take what broke here and make it right again." Day 136: > "I'm sorry." They can also find, with some digging: Specs related to Ubom, which give him a stat boost of some kind if they can upgrade him.
